Kim Kardashian heads to Paris: did she & Kanye already marry in LA?

FFN_Kardashian_Kim_CHP_043014_51398050

Here are some photos of Kim Kardashian hopping a flight at LAX yesterday and then arriving in Paris today. She wore the same outfit for the departure and arrival, which is okay. I wouldn’t think that Kim could make a pair of trousers with some kind of weird “wrap” detail work, but the pants aren’t bad at all. And I kind of like the blouse.

But the question remains: why did she fly to Paris? She’s even checked into a hotel (the Meurice), so she’ll be there at least one night, I’m assuming (why doesn’t she stay at Kanye’s apartment though?). TMZ reported yesterday that their sources were saying that Kim and Kanye would be doing a small, quiet, private civil wedding ceremony in LA this week. Sources say Kim and Kanye got a “confidential marriage license” and a justice of the peace will be coming to their home to perform the ceremony so everything will be legal ahead of their “just for show, not really a legit wedding” blow-out in Paris in late May.

So… what is Kim doing in Paris right now? Is she doing a wedding gown fitting? Is she just picking up something to wear for her civil ceremony? Surely the designers would have sent it to her in LA, right? Or maybe Kim and Kanye have already done their quickie civil wedding and they really can keep secrets when they want to.

Last thing – Kimye’s Vogue cover was one of the best-selling issues ever.

PS… Kim changed her clothes to go shopping with Serena Williams in Paris. Check out the Canadian tuxedo! My God, those jeans are tight.

VENUS WILLIAMS Hosts Healthy Living Event With Jamba Juice!

Jake Steinfeld, Venus WilliamsTennis superstar Venus Williams teamed up with Jamba Juice to host the 4th Annual FiTrends Expo. The goal of the FiTrends Expo is to promote healthy living with a diet that includes plenty of fruits and vegetables (easy to get with Jamba Juice!) as well as exercise. Jake Steinfeld of Body by Jake, fellow Jamba Juice Healthy Living Council member, joined Venus for the event. They discussed four major Hollywood exercise trends: Pound, Hoopnotica, Surfset Fitness and Pop Physique. RELATED: Serena and Venus Williams are cover girls.

I haven’t heard of any of these workout trends: I’m out of touch! Here’s a quick rundown of these new workout trends:

  • At a Pound website, it’s described as “a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, plyometrics and Isometric poses into a 45-minute series.”
  • Hoopnotica looks like a workout with hula hoops. Fun!
  • Surfset Fitness looks like an exercise class that takes place in the sea on a surfboard, so landlocked people might be out of luck there.
  • Pop Physique looks like a ballet and Pilates-inspired workout that was “born in LA.”

Hey, any new way to stay active is one I’m willing to investigate! After the event, Jamba Juice hosted its ‘Blend in the Good’ Dance Party with the DanceOn network and celebrity choreographer Brian Friedman, from So You Think You Can Dance and known for choreographing celebs including Britney Spears, NeYo, Rihanna and more. Brian led more than a hundred participants through a free workout dance class with the help of the Flahvaz crew from America’s Best Dance Crew. Sounds like a great event!

Serena Williams: I’m ‘proud of my curves & embrace my large boobs & butt’

SW1

When we last checked in with Serena Williams, it was last year and she was A) being rightfully slammed for trash-talking the Steubenville rape victim and B) being not-so-righteously slammed as a “homewrecker” by Maria Sharapova. All in all, it was time to go away for a little bit and reboot. And I guess that’s what Serena did. Serena covers the new issue of Fitness Magazine, and the interview is all about positive body image and nothing at all controversial. Some highlights:

The Two Serenas: “I think of myself as two different people. There’s the Serena Williams that everyone knows: She’s crazy. She can’t make a mistake. And she’s angry and just not nice, to be honest. I’m only that person for three hours a day, when I’m on the court. The rest of the time I’m just Serena. I’m the class clown.”

The tennis court is her office: “I’m a little insane. That’s when Serena Williams comes out and she’s nuts. That really upsets me. It’s not the real me. I was watching this match the other day with my dad, and I literally looked like I was going to cry on the court even though I was up 5-1 match point! I thought, Gosh, why was I so stressed out? Even for me, it’s shocking to see. But in another way, it’s kind of cool to know that I have everything together on the court, because I don’t really have my life together personally. I’m here and there and everywhere traveling the world and playing tennis. Recently, though, I’ve gotten more serious. I’ve decided that my foundation is going to open another school in Africa.”

Body image: “When I was young, I thought I should be built more like an athlete, long and lean, not with a womanly figure. But then people my age started coming up to me and saying, ‘I love you because of the way you look.’ They could relate to me. That was really motivating. So I learned to be proud of my curves and embrace my large boobs and my butt. It’s all about loving who you are and realizing that you’re beautiful.”

Diet: “It all started because I didn’t want to bring bad food into the house. I live with my sister, Venus, who has Sjögren’s syndrome, an autoimmune disease. Before her problems, I ate a lot of junk. I also found out three years ago that I’m allergic to wheat, so I’m trying to eat a clean diet of natural, raw foods.”

Feeling less than confident: “Unless I’m eating really healthy, I feel that way almost every other week. I feel as if I can do better and be smaller, which I think is just a natural thing for women to feel. We’re taught that we have to look a certain way.”

Fitness: “For me it’s so important to mix it up, I ran, and then I biked. Then I did elliptical … I tried yoga. I started dancing because I couldn’t train when I was sick. We started making up moves, and it was fun. Now I run for 10 minutes and then I dance.”

[From Fitness]

I do find Serena inspiring, but only in limited doses. As an athlete, yes, she’s incredibly inspiring. As a role model for the more voluptous/strong/curvy body type? Yes, she’s inspiring. Her attitude overall? Not that inspiring. But she’s a winner and that’s what she’s focused on. Which is fine. Not everyone has to be all things to all people.

Tennis superstar Serena Williams enjoyed the Sabra Hummus.

I am so hungry this is great. I love the spicy one.”

Maria Sharapova calls out Serena Williams for being a ‘homewrecker’

Last week was terrible for Serena Williams. Serena had given an interview to Rolling Stone a few months ago, and when the most controversial parts were released last week, everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) went HARD on Selena. To be fair to everyone, Serena’s comments about the Steubenville rape victim were callous, offensive, ignorant and ridiculous. And Serena made the mistake of offering a blasé non-apology, half-denying that she ever said anything bad – except that Rolling Stone has the tapes, and she actually said that junk.

Lost in the controversy was a particularly bitchy aside about an unnamed female tennis player that many assumed was Maria Sharapova. Serena said, “There are people who live, breathe and dress tennis. I mean seriously, give it a rest… She begins every interview with ‘I’m so happy. I’m so lucky’—it’s so boring. She’s still not going to be invited to the cool parties. And hey, if she wants to be with the guy with a black heart, go for it.” Many believed the reference is to Maria’s current boyfriend, Grigor Dimitrov, who used to date Serena.

Anyway, Serena and Maria are both at Wimbledon this week, and both are doing press. And it’s getting bitchy and shady in here! Let’s start with Serena, who told the press assembled at Wimbledon: “It definitely hasn’t been easy. And I feel like I really wanted to say: I apologize for everything that was said in that article.” Serena also said that at a pre-Wimbledon event, she approached Maria and apologized personally to her, face-to-face. Serena claimed Maria had accepted her apology. Serena said: “I made it a point to reach out to Maria. … I said, `Look, I want to personally apologize to you if you are offended by being brought into my situation. I want to take this moment to … be open, say I’m very sorry.’”

Except that Maria had her own comments to make during her press conference! When Maria was asked about Serena, Maria said: “If she wants to talk about something personal, maybe she should talk about her relationship and her boyfriend that was married and is getting a divorce and has kids.” OMG. PERFECT SHADE. That’s basically like, “Oh, you want to talk smack about how I can’t get into cool parties? You’re a g—damn homewrecker. I have PROOF.” The no-longer-married dude being referenced is Patrick Mouratoglou… who is no longer with his wife, and he’s with Serena. So… yeah.

Anyway, Serena was approached by journalists following Maria’s perfect shade, and Serena said: “I definitely was told of (Sharapova’s) comments. I definitely like to keep my personal life personal. I think it would be inappropriate for me to comment on it.”

Serena Williams on the Steubenville rape victim: ‘I’m not blaming the girl, but…’

I think I managed to go through the entire Steubenville rape case and controversy without ever really writing about it. I didn’t have much to add to the many eloquent voices defending the 16-year-old rape victim while simultaneously educating the public on Rape Culture, on why “being good at football” doesn’t give you a pass to rape an unconscious teenager, nor post photos of her sexual assault on your social media, nor bully the rape victim after her assault. The Steubenville rape was summarized eloquently by one man I saw on MSNBC after the verdict came out: American society teaches young women “don’t get raped” when we should be teaching men “don’t rape”.

This is all backstory for a new celebrity interview. Serena Williams – who is currently fresh off her French Open victory – gave an interview to Rolling Stone. The interview seems to have been conducted a few months ago, when the Steubenville case was getting wall-to-wall coverage. I want to point out one process point: this is not a tabloid story. This is not a situation where “a friend of Serena Williams says that Serena said something.” This is a direct interview with Serena. She knew she was on the record. And this is what happened, via Deadspin:

We watch the news for a while, and the infamous Steubenville rape case flashes on the TV—two high school football players raped a 16-year-old, while other students watched and texted details of the crime. Serena just shakes her head.

“Do you think it was fair, what they got? They did something stupid, but I don’t know. I’m not blaming the girl, but if you’re a 16-year-old and you’re drunk like that, your parents should teach you: don’t take drinks from other people. She’s 16, why was she that drunk where she doesn’t remember? It could have been much worse. She’s lucky. Obviously I don’t know, maybe she wasn’t a virgin, but she shouldn’t have put herself in that position, unless they slipped her something, then that’s different.”

[From Rolling Stone via Deadspin]

So much BS in one short passage. Again, we teach girls: don’t get raped. And the secondary message seems to be to boys: if a girl is drunk or incapacitated or you’re good at sports, go ahead and rape whoever you want and you can get away with it because everyone will blame your victim. You know what really bugs? “Maybe she wasn’t a virgin…” WTF does virginity have anything to do with it? If the girl was a virgin, did she “deserve” to be raped more or less?

In a less aggravating section of the interview, Serena seems to be throwing shade at Maria Sharapova, although Serena doesn’t name her:

“There are people who live, breathe and dress tennis. I mean seriously, give it a rest.” Serena exits the car and the conversation moves on to a Top Five player who is now in love. “She begins every interview with ‘I’m so happy. I’m so lucky’—it’s so boring,” says Serena in a loud voice. “She’s still not going to be invited to the cool parties. And hey, if she wants to be with the guy with a black heart, go for it.”

[From Rolling Stone via Deadspin]

Deadspin points out that Maria is currently dating Grigor Dimitrov, who Serena dated a while back too. Is there any secret that there’s no love lost between Maria and Serena? I bet Serena really was referencing her.

After all the hard work she’s put in her game for the past few years, this gal definitely deserves a break! 2013 French Open champion Serena Williams was spotted enjoying a day out on the beach with a few of her close friends while in Miami, Fla. on Saturday afternoon.

I’ve noticed that if there’s one place that Serena loves, it’s Miami. She definitely has a great time each and every time she visits. Plus, she is smokin’ with that incredible bikini body of hers. Check out our photos below and let us know what you think!

There is no doubt that this gal has got game! It’s hard to believe, but Serena Williams has been on top of her game too for over a decade and she’s still going strong! The tennis ace was spotted celebrating her French Open win while she was out and about in Paris, France over the weekend. She won her Women’s Singles Final match against Maria Sharapova to win her second French Open.

It’s hard not to love the Williams sisters, right? They’ve done so much for the sport and have remained so humble despite all of their amazing success, too. Check out our photos of Serena below and of course, congratulations again on your big win!

Robert Pattinson Schedules First Post-Scandal Interview

Sorry, Today Show. But we have a feeling Good Morning America will beat you in the ratings once again next week. At least on August 15.

Robert Pattinson has booked his first interview since Kristen Stewart confirmed to the world that she cheated on him earlier this year with director Rupert Sanders. He’ll sit down with the CBS program next Wednesday in promotion of the film Cosmopolis.

R. Patt Photograph

It seems highly unlikely that the actor will be asked any questions about his personal life, but the interview will be conducted live and it may be too difficult to the show to resist throwing some Stewart-related question Rob’s way.

We’ll certainly be tuning in to find out.

Sources say Pattinson was out at a bar in California Friday night, looking sober and mostly in good spirits. However, an insider tells Us Weekly that “Rob’s a total mess, trying to figure out why Kristen did this.”

Will we get any insight at all into his mental state next Wednesday? Or will be in full-on movie promotion mode? Viewers around the country are already counting down the seconds until we can see for ourselves.
