Rachel Crow on X Factor Elimination: Don’t Blame Nicole!

It was the most emotional scene of The X Factor season: Rachel Crow, 13, falling into sobs as soon after she eliminated from the competition this week… while the crowd booed Nicole Scherzinger for not casting a vote that would have saved the contestant.

After the show, however, Rachel was far more calm than many in the audience.

“I am not feeling the greatest, but I will be fine,” the singer told the press, adding of Scherzinger: “She told me that she was sorry. I don’t know why she said that… I told her it was okay and not her fault.”

Considering the hate-filled messages directed at Nicole and Paula Abdul last week, Crow also issued this plea to fans:

“I want to say to all those people, ‘Stop, Please.’ [Scherzinger] is the nicest person and the most beautiful person inside and out… She is amazing, and I don’t understand why people are taking it out on her. It’s no one’s fault. It’s not even America’s fault. It’s no one person’s fault. It’s just what God had in store for me. And I will be okay.”

Do you think Rachel should have been voted out?

The Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year Is…

For its annual Sportsman of the Year honor, Sports Illustrated simply could not choose between a pair of iconic coaches.

Therefore, both Pat Summitt and Mike Krzyzewski have been recognized by the magazine, with the University of Tennessee Women’s Basketball Coach and the Duke University Men’s Basketball Coach covering the latest issue of the publication:

2011 Sportswoman and Sportsman of the Year

Last month, Coach K set the all-time Division I mark for coaching victories, less than two years after leading Duke to yet another national title.

Summitt, meanwhile, put her stamp on 2011 in a more personal way: in August, she announced that she’d continue her legendary coaching career despite a diagnosis of early-onset dementia.

Krzyzewski and Summitt join John Wooden and Dean Smith as the only coaches to receive this award from Sports Illustrated. They’ll be honored with a banquet in New York City tomorrow night.

Tiger Woods Actually Wins Golf Tournament!

Rachel Uchitel who?!

For the first time in more than two years, Sunday marked the return of the Tiger Woods we used to talk about, with the golfer draining a birdie putt on the final hole to win and fist-pumping in his trademark red and black ensemble.

Tiger rallied to win the Chevron World Challenge with this dramatic effort:

He went 749 days and 26 tournaments without winning as he tried to repair his image, a golf game that used to be the best in the world, and his image following one of the most (if not the most) celebrity scandals in history.

The drought is over now. How does it feel for the 35-year-old?

“It feels great,” he said. “Kind of hard for me to elaborate beyond that. I know it’s been awhile, but for some reason, it feels like it hasn’t. I think I was screaming something. But it was just that I won the golf tournament. I pulled it off with one down, two to go.”

The rest of the golf world had better look out in 2012.

The X Factor Results: This Is It For…

Two contestants were forced to say This Is It on The X Factor tonight, as a pair of hopefuls Beat It off stage in eliminations that were the result of their Michael Jackson-themed covers from the previous evening.

So, who got the boot?

The Factor Final 5

Early on in the hour, the top three of Melanie Amaro, Chris Rene and Rachel Crow were passed through to the next round. Astro, the 15-year old rapper from Brooklyn was then sent packing, reacting in a far more mature manner then when he was forced to sing for his survival two weeks ago.

He hugged his fellow contestants and thanked his “Astronauts.”

It then came down to Drew and Marcus Canty, with Paula Abdul casting the deciding vote for the former based on her chair-based performance from Tuesday night. Drew fought off tears, gave praise to Jesus and said she has “a lot to show” the world still.

“I think she’s a little star and I think America knows she’s going to be a star,” Simon Cowell said of his protege.

What is your take on these eliminations?

Is Kris Humphries Gay?!?

Based on a new tabloid report, perhaps Kim Kardashian should be the one claiming she was defrauded her her marriage to Kris Humphries.

Why? Because the basketball player is gay, people! Star Magazine makes that clear in its latest issue by quoting an anonymous source who shares this story from the couple’s honeymoon:

Kris Humphries Star Magazine Cover

“One night she came back to their hotel room in a trench coat… She lit candles, put on some music and started doing a sexy striptease. But Kris barely looked up from the TV! He was like, ‘Later babe. I’m watching SportsCenter now.’”

Well… was Scott Van Pelt anchoring that edition? Because, come on, that dude is hilarious!

Khloe allegedly asked Kim if her husband was homosexual and Kim supposedly had to think about it after awhile because, this tabloid hilariously states, “there were signs.”

A publicist for Humphries scoffs at this suggestion and has simply referred to the chatter as “completely false and ridiculous.” But what do you think? Is Kris Humphries gay?

J.R. Martinez on Anderson: My Scars Are My Uniform

J.R. Martinez’s victory tour brought him to Anderson this week.

There, he talked about his experience in Iraq as well as winning Dancing With the Stars, and being included in People magazine’s Sexiest Men Alive issue.

“After 33 surgeries, I better be!” Martinez joked, referring to the burn treatments and skin graft operations he’s endured since being badly hurt in Iraq.

Since 2003, his life story has been one of triumph over adversity.

Martinez began counseling other wounded veterans, then working as a motivational speaker all across the country before landing a role on All My Children.

Now, he’s one of 2011’s big breakout stars, winning DWTS, being honored by the Defense Department, Grand Marshaling the Rose Parade and so forth.

Martinez said he embraces the opportunities he has, with his newfound fame, to be an advocate for veterans, and says he will always serve our country.

“You can take away my camouflage, you can take away my M16, which is my weapon, but I look at it now… my new weapons are my words and my new uniform is my scars,” he explained. “I’m going to continue to serve in a bigger way.”

“I feel this is going to be needed with the talks of pulling our guys out of Iraq and Afghanistan and bringing them home … it’s important for me to be that voice.”

After driving over a landmine, he spent the next “two and a half years in and out of the hospital” undergoing the never-ending procedures to restore his person, adding details about the journey of self-discovery he embarked on in his recovery.

“It was a tough road at 19 years old, to look at your body and your face, and say, ‘What am I going to do about this now? How am I going to move forward?’” he said.

“Thinking you’re completely alone and no one in the world understands or can relate to you, but luckily, I was able to see a side that I can use my second chance at life as an opportunity to help people with their first chance at life.”

It’s not often you look at a celebrity and see a true hero among us, but J.R. may be that person. We wish him the best in all of his continuing endeavors.

Brad Pitt to Suicidal Fan: Failure Leads to Success!

Brad Pitt does it all.

He acts. He has kids with Angelina Jolie. He looks handsome even with that absurd hair. And after a screening of his new film the Cary Grant Theatre in Culver City, Calif., he even helped out a distraught man at a Q&A session with fans.

According to an attendee, a 30-something struggling actor announced to Pitt, Moneyball co-star Jonah Hill and the crowd that he was considering suicide. What did Pitt say?

“It turned into a very awkward moment,” the attendee says, adding that the 47-year-old actor got “choked up” as he revealed his own battles to the crowd.

But Pitt didn’t flinch.

“He said, ‘Look, man, life is up and down, it’s a vicious cycle, but you have to go through it and deal with that,'” the observer reveals. “‘You can be down, but then you come back up again, and every failure can lead to success.'”

“It was touching. As he left the theater he even stopped to talk with the guy to offer him some more words of encouragement because he was so fragile.”

What more is there to say beyond: How cool is Brad Pitt?!

Jeremy London: Wanted by Police Following Alleged Assault

The actor – best known for his former role on Party of Five and a recent patient on Celebrity Rehab – is on the run after his girlfriend called the Palm Springs Police Department Friday due to an argument over custody of their child that allegedly resulted in an assault.

“This is a false allegation and we understand that the police have to follow protocol in issuing an arrest warrant – standard when any woman files a complaint of domestic abuse,” London’s rep told People. “However, no such abuse occurred and these allegations will soon be proven false.

“Jeremy’s legal counsel is cooperating with authorities and a factual account of the incident is on record. We anticipate Jeremy to be cleared of any wrongdoing as he continues to enjoy fatherhood and embrace sobriety.”

London has been involved in a number of unusual incidents over the past year or so, the most bizarre being a kidnapping in the summer of 2010, during which the actor says he was held at gunpoint.
