Well, what do you know, here’s Captain America getting ready to fly commercial- LOL. Chris Evanswas spotted catching a flight out of LAX. My guess is he’s heading to Europe for more red carpet premieres for ‘Captain America.’ Can’t WAIT to see Chris and co-star Scarlett Johanssonon the red carpet again!
Okay, perhaps Scarlett will get more than her fair share of attention as everyone keeps an eagle eye out for a sign of a baby bump. Yet Chris is still the star of the movie! Are you looking forward to seeing ‘Captain America’? I have to admit, he’s not the most interesting superhero, but I want to see this one.
Kaiser’s already covered Scarlett Johansson’s tiny Armani bump at the premiere of Captain America: The Winter Soldier in LA. The men were a bit of fun too. Chris Evans managed to put some heart into it and show up for his big premiere. He seems to favor three-piece suits, and this shiny blue one looks good. The beard is working, right? The douche glasses are not working (they never work for him).
Chris brought his mom as his date! That’s what all the playas do. Remember, ladies. Chris is single now. I shouldn’t be so catty. His mom looks awesome. I’d be really proud if my son was Cap. I’d also encourage my son to step back, look at the big picture, and realize that — as far as comic book movies go — he the star of one of the better ones. Chris will be fine.
The other guys on the red carpet were much more enthusiastic than their leading man. Anthony Mackie looks so fine leaning up against that bike. Just picture him letting out a “Hey, girl. Wanna go for a ride?” as you strut by him. Jeremy Renner looks very Renner-y. I’m suffering from a little Renner burnout. He’s everywhere! Samuel L. Jackson is playing the role of the goofball, which is fun considering his Nick Fury character is always such a hardass. Sebastian Stan is my pick of the evening. He’s MINE. You ladies can have Chris. I may take him back next week.
Let the baby bump watch for Scarlett Johansson commence! Here’s Scarlett vamping it up in lace for the ‘Captain America‘ premiere in LA. Do you detect a baby bump? This lacy number would do a good job of hiding a small one. Some will claim they see something, but I’m not ready to declare that yet ;). I still can’t believe…
the Black Widow is having a baby! I don’t know why news of Scarlett’s pregnancy surprised me so much, but it did. I mean, she is engaged to Romain Dauriac. It’s hardly uncommon for Hollywood (and increasingly, non-Hollywood) couples to get engaged while pregnant. But I’m still surprised. I can’t wait to see Scarlett’s maternity style. Something tells me she’s going to keep a low profile, though. We hardly ever see her off-set.
It appears that Chris Evans might be a little bit disenchanted with his gig as Captain America. During an interview with Glamour UK he recently he said that he may be taking a break once his six-film contract with Marvel for their Avengers series is finished up, saying,
I would never trade in the decision to have done these movies. I’ve been wildly fortunate. I just don’t know if my heart’s as in it as it once was. I think when I’m done with this Marvel contract, I’ll take a little break from acting. With acting, you’re one piece in a very big puzzle. It’s like you helped buy a gift but you don’t know what the gift is, so you come back and see the movie. Sometimes it’s nice, sometimes it’s tragic. I would imagine the world of a director is a little bit cleaner in terms of your responsibilities.
Phew! It looks like Captain America is safe for now, and that Chris probably won’t be getting out of his current contract (or even trying to). And we totally understand wanting to take a break once his contract is up – the actors in those films have been working pretty much non-stop for the last few years filming one flick after another. Although… they probably get compensated pretty well, don’t ya think?
Backed by incredibly positive reviews – as well as successful quasi prequels such as Iron Man and last summer’s Captain America – The Avengers raked in $80.5 million on Friday and is on pace for a record Sunday, as well.
“It’s not playing like just a superhero film,” says Dave Hollis, Disney’s executive vice president of distribution. “It’s playing like a huge, accessible-to-everyone, all-quadrant picture.”
The film currently has a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, an A+ from CineScore and is already ranked number-31 on IMDb’s user-ranked Top 250 Movies list.
