Jermaine Jackson, one of the main players in the family revolt against the Michael Jackson Estate, has officially defected from the rebellion … mostly.
While he has “deep reservations” about their conduct, Jermaine is bowing out of official efforts to challenge the power of his late brother’s executors.
“I rescind my signature from the letter which was sent to the Estate, and which should never have gone public,” Jermaine Tweeted Wednesday.

Well, this is no fun.
Billed as the biggest individual rivalry at the 2012 Summer Olympics, Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte are being all… classy with each other. Don’t they know this is a competition?!?
Not long after Lochte won the Gold Medal in the 400 IM today, Phelps – who did not finish in the top three in that event for the first time since 2000 – sent a congratulatory Tweet to his countryman, writing:
Congrats to @ryanlochte … Way to keep that title in the country where it belongs!!

Michael Vick appeared on Pies Morgan Tonight yesterday and said he’d be interesting in adopting a new puppy for his children, telling the host:
“I can’t take that dream away from them. That’s selfish on my behalf.”
But the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) sees things very differently, releasing a statement in response and calling out the Eagles quarterback – who spent 19 months in prison for dogfighting – for even considering such an idea.

Dr. Conrad Murray was sentenced to four years behind bars today, the longest possible prison term for involuntary manslaughter. Needless to say, Michael Jackson’s family is adamant that he deserves every day of that sentence, and then some.
His mother, Katherine Jackson, made that abundantly clear in recent weeks.
In Murray’s official Probation Report, Katherine lashes out at Murray for his documentary, in which he lays blame on Michael and denies any wrongdoing.

Christina Aguilera sang some classic Jackson tunes before a capacity crowd at the Michael Forever tribute concert in Cardiff, Wales, on Saturday evening.
The 30-year-old singer was one of a handful of celebrities who paid tribute to the late Michael Jackson, including Cee Lo Green, Ne-Yo, and Leona Lewis.
A pregnant Beyonce performed via video, while Jennifer Hudson reportedly bailed at the last minute. Fearne Cotton and Jamie Foxx hosted the event.
