‘Twilight’ star Kristen Stewart wants to practice some art that doesn’t require getting in front of a camera. She revealed her plans in an interview to try her hand at some other forms of art besides acting. RELATED: Kristen Stewart rocks leather overalls: love it or hate it?
Kristen explained to Us Weekly:
I’m taking some time off because I’ve been working for two years. I’m an actor and that’s my art form, and because I started that so young, I’ve always felt intimidated and insufficient when I think about other forms of art I want to create.
“I’m going to take so much time off. I’m going to buy a live-work space in downtown L.A. and I’m going to make some [stuff] with my hands. Literally, I made that decision a few weeks ago. I’m making a short film. I’m making a bunch of stuff. I don’t know how I’ll put it out. But I’m not going to hold it so preciously close to me. I write all the time.”
One thing Kristen won’t be doing, however, is just sitting around, doing nothing.
One thing that will stay with me forever is, I really love work. I love hard work. I’m somewhat OK with the isolation. At times I realize, that’s so not normal. It’s weird but it gives me the opportunity to do what I love.”
Well, how isolated can Kristen be in downtown LA? Besides, she has a movie listed in pre-production called ‘The Big Shoe’ and several movies in post-production, so it’s not like we won’t be seeing Kristen. That’s probably for the best for her, career-wise.
Hollywood is full of stories of A-listers who decided to take a few weeks off and that “break” lasted for years. Sandra Bullock, for example, was one of the top actresses in Hollywood in the 90s when she decided to take off a few months. That “break” lasted for about years until she had a career resurgence with ‘The Proposal’ and ‘The Blind Side.’ Not everyone gets as lucky as Sandra, though! It’ll be interesting to see what Kristen creates during her self-imposed hiatus.
