Meryl Streep
AMY ADAMS Elle UK Cover Girl
No, I don’t think this looks like Amy Adams at all, but then again I ALWAYS get her mixed up with Isla Fisher! It looks like someone definitely twerked with the photoshop a little too much here, but that’s just my opinion. The Hollywood actress graces the cover of Elle UK this month, where inside she talks about her career and insecurities. Here are a few highlights from her interview:
After filming Catch Me If You Can: “I choked. I felt this pressure to suddenly be this level of actress that I wasn’t confident enough to be. I did a series of really bad auditions, I let the nerves get the

Benedict Cumberbatch on Meryl Streep: ‘I just couldn’t act, I was in awe of her’
You know this is The Year of Cumberbatch, right? It’s also The Year of McAvoy (he has a bunch of movies coming out in 2013), but today I just want to talk about Benedict Cumberbatch and his amazing 2013. This summer he stars in his first big-budget popcorn flick Star Trek Into Darkness. Then he has Twelve Years a Slave (with Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, etc). Then at the end of the year, he’s got three major films for the awards season – the second Hobbit film (The Desolation of Smaug), August: Osage County and The Fifth Estate, where he plays Julian Assange in what will probably be

2013 Golden Globe nominations: Nicole, Meryl, Cumby & Joaquin!
The Golden Globe nominations are out! Is this the first time that the SAG nominations came out a day before the Globe nominations? Did this happen last year? I forget. Anyway, you can go here to read yesterday’s WTF-ery with the SAG nominations. Surprisingly enough, compared to the SAGs, the Globes seem almost measured and reasonable. Sure, there are some surprises – like Nicole Kidman for The Paperboy AGAIN – but basically this list feels a lot better than the SAG noms. You can read the full list here and here, and here are the biggest categories:
Best Picture, Drama: “Argo” “Django

Is Meryl Streep rolling her eyes at Julia Roberts’ ‘childish diva antics’ on set?
Have you ever heard Meryl Streep talk about women and the female experience and women’s history and women’s rights and feminism? She’s really into all things womanity. She’s ballsy, smart, dedicated, tough, educated, and political, and she doesn’t apologize for being any of those things. And most people don’t have any problems with her either, because A) she is one of America’s Greatest Treasures and B) she actually seems like a lovely woman in general. The only time anyone has dared to say anything negative about her, it was in the Enquirer, and it sounded like one of her neighbors who

Meryl Streep in a coral, belted dress at the ‘Hope Springs’ premiere: ageless & lovely?
My mother wants to see Hope Springs. I know she’s going to guilt me into taking her to see it. Hope Springs is that movie starring Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones as an older married couple looking to rediscover their “spark” with the help of a marriage counselor played by Steve Carell. Considering Carell’s career trajectory (he usually plays lead characters at this point), I’m guessing he just did this movie because he wanted a chance to work with Meryl and Tommy Lee Jones. Now, I’ll see pretty much anything with Meryl, so that’s not my issue. I guess my issue is that Tommy seems
